Solar Thermal Systems
Solar energy is the cleanest and most inexhaustible of all known energy sources. Solar radiation is the heat, light and other radiation that is emitted from the sun. Solar energy can be classified into two categories; Thermal and Light (Photovoltaic).
Photovoltaic cells (PV) use semiconductor-based technology to convert light energy directly into an electric current that can either be used immediately, or stored in a battery, for later use.
Thermal energy can be used to passively heat buildings through the use of certain building materials and architectural design, or used directly to heat water for household, commercial or industrial use. In many regions, solar water heaters are now a viable supplement or alternative to electric, diesel or gas hot water production.
Today, Solar Hot Water Heaters are used for a variety of applications in locations all around the world. Our customers use their collectors for:
• Large Residential Hot Water Heating - Hotels, Health Clubs, Apartments, Resorts, and more
• Commercial and Industrials Hot Water Needs - Office Buildings, Laundromats, Industrial Facilities and more
• Municipal Hot Water Needs - Libraries, Government Buildings, Hospitals, and more
• Outdoors and Indoors Pools
GreenEnergy offer a complete turnkey solution from lead generation through installation to service and maintenance. We are focus on solar thermal projects on commercial and industrial markets optimizing cost and performance.
We offer a complete supply and installation service for systems between 10.000 to 100.000 liters per day of hot water. We will advise on the appropriate size and type of solar collectors, tanks and accessories.
Design & Engineering
We have in-house capabilities to complement top-tier design and consulting operations in designing and optimizing standalone or integrated sustainable energy solutions.
Installation & Maintenance Program
We are identifying and aligning ourselves with installation partners and other sub-contractors to develop and implement the best practices in the area of installation. Maintenance program are also available.
Turnkey Services
We have aligned ourselves with a number of sub-contractors to be able to offer turnkey solutions including financing, and government rebate assistance.
There are two major types of collectors; Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors and Flat Plate Solar Collectors. Each has their own benefits and drawbacks when compared to the other, and when compared to traditional water and home heating fuel sources.
Flat Plate Solar Collectors are typically less expensive than Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors, but are less efficient in cooler environmental. For this reason, in the case of Chile, it is recommended that customers northern located where freezing and cloudy weather is rare, purchase Flat Plate Solar Collectors. The lower cost of these collectors makes them a much wiser investment in these areas than spending the additional money Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors where they are not needed.
Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors are more efficient and cost-effective in southern, cool (cold), cloudy climates. Their 360 degree collector design allows them to gather much more sunlight in low-light conditions, and earlier and later in the day when the sun is at angles that would not be utilized by a traditional Flat Plate Solar Collector. However, Evacuated Tube Solar Collectors are more costly than Flat Plate Solar Collectors, but this initial cost is quickly recouped by their increased efficiency, and wider range of climates that they are able to work in.
