What is Solar Air Heating?
The SolarWall® technology is a patented solar air heating system that heats building ventilation air. It delivers one of the fastest ROIs possible for a solar technology in the commercial and industrial sector because it substantially offsets the traditional heating load. The SolarWall® system can be used on walls or roofs for a variety of uses and applications, from solar heating buildings, to agricultural and manufacturing process drying.
How It Works?
The SolarWall® air heating system is a custom engineered solution containing many internal and external components. It uses solar energy to heat and ventilate indoor spaces in new and retrofit applications, as well as to heat air for manufacturing process and agricultural crop drying applications.
The system operates in a very simple manner using economical and environmentally-benign solar energy to heat buildings:
• The dark-colored metal cladding is heated by solar radiation
• Ventilation fans located at the top of the wall create a negative pressure in the cavity
between the cladding and the building
• Outside air is drawn through tiny holes in the SolarWall® and is heated by the metal
panels
• The air rises in the cavity to a plenum at the top of the wall
• The incoming warm air is ducted to the nearest fan
• Warm, fresh air is distributed throughout the building

• Heats air 5º - 25° Celsius above ambient
• Solar energy conversion up to 80%
